Inspiration Sunday: Look to the Highest

A Very Birdcage Wedding

For some reason I decided I didn't want to wear a veil at my wedding. I always assumed I would just wear my hair down in curls, possibly with a very pretty headband. But then I became obsessed with birdcage wedding veils. I just think that they are so cute and unique. I still get the veil effect, but with some sassiness!

I am really in love with fit and flare gowns, but I did try on a BEAUTIFUL ball gown that I'm trying to decide if I could pull off the birdcage with. Would you wear a birdcage veil for your wedding and what style dress would you wear it with?

Sewing Projects

This past weekend I made my little brother a fleece blanket and my little sister a cute tote. Thankfully they were pretty quick to complete-it took me about 90 minutes on Saturday night before I went to bed. I'm getting the hang of sewing straight lines!!

Sew Much Fun!!

Fourth of July was really uneventful for me in the sense that I did not partake in any of the festivities…I know…I was a lame this year. Instead, I ordered a sewing machine, the Brother CS6000i that I happen to ADORE! I went to Joann Fabrics (a tad bit obsessive!!) because I decided I’d start with baby washcloths, burp cloths, and blankets. Easy projects that would help me practice sewing in a straight line and rounding corners. Something I really need to learn if I’m planning on making some skirts soon! I’m also learning to crochet! I took the 8th off thinking I’d get a little bit more rest (I need it with grad school, wedding planning and work, I’m burned out), but I ended up running around doing wedding stuff. I picked out the lighting for the reception, the paper for our invitations, and we met with another photographer, I went to bed at midnight I think. An eventful day. What do you think of my first package? This weekend I’ll be working on blankets for my baby brother!

*Please excuse the not at all crisp S3 photos*

Pretty + Patriotic

4th of July is here!! That means it's time to pull out our patriotic red, white, and blue and celebrate the independence of this great nation. Now, I like to do things a little differently - be a little adventurous and fashionably chic at the same time. And it is possible to be creative and cute in patriotic clothes! This is definitely something I would wear to a bbq with friends or 4th of July day party!
