DIY HEART EARRINGS

For valentine's day this year, I thought it would be fun to make some earrings. I think they came out pretty snazzy! This post is really just to showcase them and give a quick + brief rundown of what I did. It was really easy!

Supplies:

-polymer clay in white

-a mini heart-shaped cutter
-Martha Stewart paint
-a rolling pin
-polymer clay tools
-wax paper
-paint brush
-oven
-e-6000 glue
-earring posts and backs
-modge podge

This was fairly simple!

Steps:
  1. I took out some polymer clay, and laid it on top of the wax paper.
  2. I rolled it out with the rolling pin to flatten it. I chose to keep the clay kind of thick.
  3. Then, I used the mini heart-shaped cutter to cut hearts into the clay.
  4. Next I set the oven to 275 degrees and baked the clay for 15 minutes.
  5. After the clay cooled, I painted it. I used a variation of metallic gold, metallic copper, and pearl pink.
  6. When that dried, I coated it with some modge podge to prevent chipping.
  7. When the modge podge was dry, I placed the e-6000 glue onto the earring post and stuck the heart shape onto the glue.
  8. Voila! An earring!

Have any of you done any DIY valentine themed projects or are you planning on doing one? I'd love to see!!
