GRADUATE SCHOOL

graduate-school

First of all yes, I need to clean my laptop screen. Second of all, I started grad classes this past Monday. YESSSS the end is near!! After this term, I have one term left and then I'll have my graduate degree, PRAISE JESUS!!

This semester I am taking Promotions Management and Product Management. Both classes are already in full swing with groups assigned for our projects and work due on Sunday. EEEK!!

My goals for this term are:

1. Be more organized. Last term...really the last 6 months have been a MAJOR challenge. I have major itis! I am ready to be finished! I'm usually the one who has assignments completed in advance so that I am not stressed out. I haven't been that way lately-procrastination has been my first and last name. Hopefully the winter break will have been enough to get me back to my usual self.

2. Complete both courses with an A. These are some of my favorite topics so this shouldn't be much of an issue. But with working full-time, trying to find a new job, wedding planning, and being more active on this blog (I really don't want to let this slip-I'm having such a blast this time around!), things are bound to become a little overwhelming! So I am asking that you all place me on your prayer lists, I need it!

3. Create a schedule AND follow it. Sounds simple enough right? WRONG!! Right now I am supposed to be doing some small assignments for school, but I am working on this blog post. Bad Keiz! This falls in line with goal number one-if I can create a schedule and follow it, then I will (hopefully) be more efficient and have more time to focus on the creative things that I want to do.

4. Buy a wireless mouse and keyboard. This is for school and for personal use too. Kill two birds with one stone right? If I could hook my laptop up to my flatscreen (such a great picture and I won't be squinting by the end of the night!), I could get so much more accomplished! I won't be tempted to lay in my bed where I'm prone to fall asleep, AND the television will be off-leaving me with one less distraction!

That's pretty much it, easy peasy right?! Sigh-it really was much easier in the beginning. Right now I'm just ready to graduate, but I have to regain my focus because I can really see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Is anyone else in school right now? Can you offer some tips to stay organized?

  2. First of all, congratulations!!! Grad school sounds tough, so keep it up. You got this, girl!

And, yes, you do need to clean your laptop screen (but so do I hahaha only if you can see!)

Since you asked, I am in school too. I am going for Nursing(RN BSN degree), but, currently, I am taking prerequisite classes. So I have a good few years to go. What are you going for?

I can't really give you an advice to be organized because that would be silly of me. (My life--meaning the house, hehe--seems so unorganized lately.) But I can tell you that I am working on that. I am buying/putting together a planner(haven't decided which one yet). I keep seeing the Emily Ley Simplified planner, but honestly $56 is a little expensive for me, so I am debating if I should just make one of my own.

    1. I am getting my MS in Marketing with a Certificate in Social Media. I was also getting an International MBA but I've decided to skip the classes I'm not interested in :)

I was looking at that binder today-yes, $56 is way too much. I purchased a Lilly Pulitzer planner for $28. I also made my own binder where I included some of those Emily Ley free printables (down for tha free!). I've been using it as my blogging planner and I also made some inserts of my own.

I just made myself a schedule-hopefully I can stick to it until mid June.

I know what you mean! I just cleaned my house last weekend and it is back looking like a tornado ran through!

Good Jesus with nursing school, I know you'll do great!

  3. You should see my iPad mini's screen. It's worse. And congrats on being so close to being done with graduate school! I am just starting my second semester of graduate school so I still have a long way to go. I am excited yet nervous about the next 2 years because I know it will be a challenge so congrats to you on being so close and have great goals set in place. I'm also hoping to be a little more organized this new semester. :)

    1. I had a friend that was in his last semester when I started and I thought "OMG what have I done, this is going to take forever!!" Now that it's almost over for me I can really say that it will fly by. Just focus on two weeks at a time. :)

  4. Use one of those monthly dry erase boards to map out when your assignments are due! When you see them laid out you can plan when to start them so you don't end up pulling an all nighter.

    1. That's a pretty good idea!! I just made myself a calendar too so I can keep track of what class I'm focusing on and on what day during the week. The goal is to be done and have assignments submitted by Thursday night.
